Caring for your baby during ear molding
Most babies carry on with feeding, sleeping and cuddles as usual. This page gives general guidance. Always follow the written instructions your EarWell Centers care team gives you, and call 214-540-1428 whenever you are unsure.

Everyday care
- Keep the device dry. Your team will explain how to wash your baby without wetting the device, usually with a damp washcloth or sponge bath rather than a tub bath.
- Leave it in place. Do not remove, open or reposition the device yourself.
- Feed and sleep as usual. Follow safe-sleep guidance from your pediatrician. Ask the team if you have questions about positioning.
- Keep little hands away. Snug sleeves or mittens can stop your baby from pulling at the device.
- Watch the skin. Look at the skin around the device each day for redness, moisture or soreness.
If the device loosens or comes off
Call 214-540-1428 the same day. Keep the device and any pieces, and do not try to reapply it. The team will tell you whether to come in and what to do in the meantime.
Call us promptly if you notice
- Redness, broken skin, blistering or a sore spot near the device
- A wet, smelly or discharging area under or around the device
- The device slipping, loosening or coming apart
- Your baby seems unusually uncomfortable or unsettled
For a medical emergency, call 911.
Between visits
Keep a note of questions as they come up and bring it to your next visit. Photos of the skin can help you describe a change when you call, but please share them only in the way the team asks.
After treatment ends
The clinician will tell you how to care for the skin once the device is removed and whether a later check-up is needed.
